    Simon Mark Monjack (9 March – 23 May ) was an English screenwriter, film director, producer and make-up artist.

    He was the widower of Brittany Murphy.[1][2]

    Early life

    Monjack was born on 9 March in Hillingdon, Middlesex, to a Jewish family.[3] He grew up in Bourne End, Buckinghamshire.[4] He attended Juniper Hill School, Flackwell Heath, then Royal Grammar School, High Wycombe.[4] When he was 16, his father, William (–), died of a brain tumour.[4][5][6] His mother Linda (née Hall) is a hypnotherapist.[7]
